Three Day Training Programme

Three-day Training Programme on Addressing Drug-related Issues in Arunachal Pradesh was held from January 29th to January 31st, 2024. A field visit to the Rehabilitation/De-Addiction Centre at Lekhi run by the Kripa Foundation and Asha Bhawan, Banderdewa, was included. Volunteers of Singcha Ghene attended the program.

Shri Bem Menia

Shri Bem Menia, a dedicated volunteer of Singcha Ghene Welfare Society, successfully completed Tour Guide training facilitated by the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the District Administration, ICR, spanning from January 22nd to January 25th, 2024.

Four volunteers

Four volunteers from the Singcha Ghene Welfare Society participated in the 12-day Aapda Mitra program, an initiative by the Government of India to train volunteers across India in collaboration with the State Disaster Management, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. During the twelve-day training program, the volunteers were taught about various types of disasters, how to manage them, prevent them, or implement mitigation steps. They learned about earthquakes, landslides, floods, tsunamis, cyclones, thunderstorms, lightning, forest fires, biological emergencies, chemical emergencies, and more by SDRF trainers.  The training covered basic search and rescue operations, community-based first aid, MFR (medical first responder) techniques, providing pre-hospital treatment to injured victims, bleeding control, and assisting people after a disaster.  The trainers provided thorough knowledge and shared experiences, teaching through both theory and practical exercises, demonstrations, with utmost clarity.

Shri Bem Menia and Shri Talo Tatu

Shri Bem Menia and Shri Talo Tatu, volunteers from the Singcha Ghene Welfare Society who recently underwent training in Disaster Management, assisted the Disaster Management team in rescuing individuals near Punjabi Dhaba, Itanagar, and during the Jollang Landslide on May 16th, 2022.
